It takes a lot of time to make good things happen, some times you just have to let it roll along and eventually it will all come together. This is how it is right now with Motörhead wine, it is so close I can almost taste it.
This post is a call out to all the retailers out there in Australia. If you want to see this wine in your store then we need to know. You see the guys with the money are worried we can’t sell what we intend to make, crazy right! I have absolutely no doubt that this wine will sell and sell well. The challenge right now is to provide some real evidence of that to the cheque book holders. Don’t get me wrong, they want it work as much as I do, but seeing as it’s their money I can understand their wanting to know the worst case scenario.
Hopefully there are enough readers out there in web land to read this and be interested enough to give a quick response in the comment box below to let me know. This doesn’t effect just the Motörhead wine either, if this isn’t successful then we won’t see the Motörhead Vodka or Slayer wine either. And this is just the beginning, there are big plans for all of this so I’d appreciate it if you can let me know. I’ll be launching a Facebook page soon too, which will easily allow people to like the page and tell us what you think.
So go on, tell me what you think. I’m listening.
It was recently brought to my attention that the almighty KISS, marketers extraordinaire, have their own wine and also a beer. I did a quick google search and found this site KISS ROCK DRINKS.com – The hottest drinks in the world.
The wine is a Zinfandel, which seems to be quite popular in the Swedish market, and is described as:
KISS Zin Fire is a bold and fruity California Zinfandel — the result of a cool, long growing season that promoted fantastic flavor and a rich, jammy aroma. A brazen blend of blackberry and pepper gives the wine a hard-rocking kick and spicy smooth finish.
There is also a beer available in both bottle and can and seems to be a traditional German Pilsner style of lager. Check out this video at about 1:30
Members of KISS had the following to say.
“This isn’t just something we put a label on. We wanted wine and beer unique to KISS and we got it, said Paul Stanley of KISS. “This stuff will set your taste buds on fire.”
“If you love beer and wine, this one is for you!” said Gene Simmons of KISS.
Please leave a comment if you have actually tried either of these products. I’m very interested to see what your impressions are. Also, if you hear of any rock branded beers, wines or spirits let me know as we often don’t see these here in Australia and I love seeing what others are doing.
Until next time, keep it loud!

Wow, now even anti-establishment rock bands like Pearl jam are getting in on the act. I’m actually a little surprised by this one, Pearl Jam is well known for not being overly corporate; they haven’t made a music video in years and they released every single show of one particular tour on CD. but, at least it is being done by a well respected and quality craft brewert, Dogfish Head. Dogfish have made other music related one-off beers, in particular Bitches Brew in honour of the late jazz legend Miles Davis.
Here is a copy of the proposed label design. The release has been set to tie in with the bands 20 year anniversary release.
